Indian -Baltic Chamber of Commerce Opens Office in India Aims at Enhancing Business Relation with India

Indian Baltic Chamber of Commerce (IBCC) is a public non-profit enterprise and is established in order to promote, develop and encourage information, trade, investment, education, cultural, tourism as well as other economically constructive relationships between Indian and Lithuanian Republic and the Baltic countries.

The objective is to enhance political relations with India, promote trade and investment, as well as facilitate co-operation in the fields of tourism, culture and education.
The Indian - Baltic Chamber of Commerce was established in 2009 in order to assist Lithuanian and Indian businessmen in establishing business collaborations. Together with The Embassy of Lithuania in Delhi IBCC has arranged four Lithuanian business missions to India.

In December 2012, IBCC signed agreement with the Indian an company, India Buying Consultants Pvt Ltd. As per terms of this agreement, India Buying Consultants Pvt Ltd has become the official representative of IBCC.

On May 23, the Indian -Baltic Chamber of Commerce (IBCC) inaugurated its branch office in Gurgaon. This is the first Lithuanian business office in India.

Ambassador Laimonas Talat-Kelpša of Lithuania said at the opening. "We hope that it will help other Lithuania companies to open doors to the Indian market."

Gediminas Citukas, CEO of the Indian Baltic Chamber of Commerce, Vilnius, told guests about the first project, which is the presentation of Lithuanian chocolate to Indian Market and wholesale companies which was organized at Chennai Bakery Expo on May 18-21. "Indian Buying Consultants will work with major importers & exporters in India and will be a beneficial partner for encouraging business and relations among the two countries," said Mr. Citukas.

On this Jitendra Sodhi who will look after the India operations as Vice President said, "There is an immense potential which can be explored through these countries Lithuania is the Gate way to Europe and has an easy access to European countries and those looking for warehousing facilities, land projects, export import business, logistic can get all necessary information through this office," said Jitendra. He also informed that whether somebody wants to enquire about fairs and exhibitions, start a new business in these countries or is looking at options to have trade relations can come to us and they will get all the necessary details right from A to Z.

The main objective of the India office is to expand the economical. political and cultural co-operation between India and the Baltic States; to develop the exchange of goods and high technologies; to find trustworthy business partners in India and the Baltic States; creation of India's image in the Baltic States; to discover new opportunities and ideas; to exchange valuable experience and to ensure the immediate co-operation. Some of the activities that will be promoted by IBCC will be promotion of investment; promotion of import/export and development of tourism.

LITHUANIA is the second fastest growing economy in the EU, In Q1 of 2013, as compared to the same period of the last year, Lithuanian economy demonstrated second fastest growth rate in the whole European Union. The GDP growth rates among EU member states in the first quarter of 2013. Lithuania's GDP grew by 4,1 %.
